SLAM 2014 – 10 & 11 September 2014
SLAM 2014 has been held in Penang Malaysia on 10 & 11 September 2014 - it is a satellite event of Interspeech 2014, Singapore. We the committee members would like to thank both the keynote speakers and all the participants who came. We really enjoyed each process of organizing and making this event a successful one, and we really enjoyed touring the participants who came from different corners of the world around! We hope that this will be a sweet memory and that they'll come back again to Penang soon!

Calling for candidates for MSc. (CS) by research mode in Affective and Behavioural Computing!
Salam and hi all! I am looking for a potential candidate to undergo MSc. by research. Generous stipend provided for two years, and a possible extension if she/he does well. The area of research is Affective Computing – which is multidisciplinary in nature (please check out some descriptions and previous/undergoing work included in this website to get some idea) . Affective and social computing involve emotion and behaviour modelling. In general, the work deals with infusing computational applications with the capability of sensing and expressing culture-sensitive emotions, and some other social intelligence (behaviour, mood, personality etc). In short, it involves a lot of analysis in human factors and behaviour (behaviour analytics).…

Seminar Asal Usul Melayu, Kubang Krian, Kelantan
I was honoured to be invited by Prof. Zilfalil Alwi to be one of the keynote speakers for Seminar Asal Usul Melayu 2014. I've learned so many amazing new things about the Malay origins, in fact human origins... which has humbled me and had me stress the fact to myself that no matter who you are, God is one. The One that have created, organized and executed everything as a single entity.
