• Budget 2013: Be Thankful and Be Proud Malaysians!

While Spain is struggling with riots because of the budget cuts and extreme hike ups in expenditures, we Malaysians are blessed with the announcement of the generous 2013 Budget today. The education sector received the largest allocation of RM50.02 billion in Budget 2012, and even more for 2013, and is continually the main focus in the allocations for the last decade. So Malaysians, be thankful, be proud and stop complaining (including myself)! http://www.thesundaily.my/news/489991

  • Las torrijas

My neighbour Maria Jesus brought us some torrijas this evening. Yummy! We were talking about it during dinner in my house last night and this evening…ta daa! Wiki cut and paste: In Spain, it is called torrijas and is typically made during Lent, out of thick slices of bread soaked in milk or wine (of course Maria Jesus didn’t use wine, nor milk, because alcohol is prohibited in our faith, and my son has milk allergy, so she substituted milk with soya), dipped in egg, fried and then drenched in spiced honey or cinnamon. So when we are poor, we live as poor…

  • Darbuka (tablah) by Debu

My brains got jammed one afternoon (lately it is getting worse!), so I took a break and browsed for some new songs – as usual latest A.R Rahman’s release.  The I came across this tube where a bunch of music group members jamming were their way through with a Darbuka. It helped me relax….it really did. I love the sound of it. Btw I think one of the guys (the blond with black shirt) is a member of the band called DEBU. Went to their concert once in Malaysia with a friend and my sister.  Great music, great love…

  • Protest in Madrid summer 2011 due to crisis

I was there during this protest with some friends from out of Spain, right there in the middle of Puerta de Sol. It was amazing to see hundreds of thousands of people. One guy even walked along Gran Via completely naked, with just a card saying "I have no money, to buy food or clothes" covering his private parts (which didn't help all that much with the covering).
